Bernadette was born in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Began working at Barratts in 1997 qualifying as a solicitor in 1999. Bernadette is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, Clinical Negligence and Spinal Injury Interest Groups. She is a regular speaker at Northern General Hospital Spinal Unit, Seminars and Study Clinics on issues relating to spinal cord injury.

She has done 2 half marathons for charity and admits embarking on the first was due to ignorance, the second was pure stupidity and vows never to put herself through it again! Bernadette also plays and coaches wheelchair basketball and was a member of the Great Britain Paralympic Squad in Sydney 2000.

She lives in Nottingham with her husband, Parm and son Kieran.
