Ed is allegedly the oldest member of the company. A graduate of Nottingham University, he lives in West Bridgford with his wife Laurie and children, Hannah, Ben and Izzi.

He has represented victims of a wide variety of incidents, including the Marchioness, the Ramsgate Ferry Disaster, the Kegworth Air Crash, the Soho pub bombing and the London Transport bombing. He specialises in industrial accidents/diseases, and brain and spinal injury claims of maximum severity. He has appeared for the last ten years in the Directory of Legal Experts.

He has lectured widely and contributed to a variety of legal publications. he is a past editor of the Journal of P.I. Litigation. He sits as a Mental Health Tribunal Judge, and is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Mental Health Law. He is a Trustee, and Vice-Chairperson of Nottingham Headway, and Legal Secretary of the Nottinghamshire Medico-legal Society.
