Emma joined Barratts in 2001 and qualified as a solicitor in 2005. She attended Anglia University where she obtained her Law Degree and thereafter Nottingham Law School to study for the Legal Practice Course.
Since joining Barratts, Emma has worked in both the personal injury and clinical negligence departments. Her experience within personal injury has included claims involving RTAs, employer’s liability, public liability and CICA claims. In addition, Emma has acted on behalf of clients seeking compensation for injuries sustained whilst working at mines, such as COPD and VWF.
Emma continues to conduct personal injury claims but the majority of her time is now spent pursuing clinical negligence matters. Cases in this area involve misdiagnosis, late diagnosis, MRSA, and dental claims. Emma has experience of dealing with claims involving damage caused at birth such as shoulder dystocia and also assists in pursuing cerebral palsy claims alongside Alison Brooks.
Emma has acted on behalf of clients in the Organ Retention Group Action and has in the past provided pro bono work to AvMA as a volunteer on their helpine.
