John was born in Nottingham but moved to Leicester to begin his legal career within the regional solicitors office of British Gas in 1982. He then moved to Harvey Ingram and from there to NewLaw solicitors in Cardiff as their motorcycle claims manager. In June 2008 he joined Barratt Goff & Tomlinson to establish a specialist biker accident claims division, Barratts Motorcycle Solicitors. Barratts have for many years helped their biker clients achieve several million pounds in compensation. John qualified as a solicitor and is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. He is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and an accredited Fellow of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He has specialised in personal injury claims for over 20 years, handling cases for clients who have suffered injuries of the utmost severity. He is recognised as a leading UK biker solicitor.
His main interest is motorcycling, having been a biker for over 37 years. His career as a Mod in the early Seventies came to an abrupt end following an altercation with a Morris 1000. John enjoys all aspects of motorcycling including ride outs, rallies and track days. He is a member of the IAM and several bike clubs including the international organisation The Blue Knights. He is a DSA instructor. John believes that prevention is better than a cure and has given numerous presentations to motorcycle clubs and has assisted with the Bike Safe Incentive. However, if a fellow motorcyclist is injured in a road traffic accident, John is committed to give the client the service that he would expect to receive as a biker. He is married to Beth, has two grown up children and a wonderful grandson.
