Emma Veasey

I joined Barratts Solicitors in 2001 and qualified as a solicitor in 2005. I have conducted both Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims. I made the decision to specialise only in Clinical Negligence as this is where my main interest lies. It was a proud moment therefore when I was named in the Chambers and Partners Directory as ‘one to watch’!

I have acted on behalf of Claimants who have suffered injury as a result of misdiagnosis, late diagnosis, infectious diseases and poor dental treatment. I have acted on behalf of children who have suffered injury at birth as a result of negligent treatment. These children have found themselves both physically and mentally disabled as a result.

Sadly, many Claimants instruct me following the loss of a loved one. I have represented families at Inquests and pursued claims for compensation on behalf of the estate of the Deceased and family members.

Acting on behalf of Claimants and succeeding in getting a good result is extremely rewarding. Although no amount of compensation can repair the loss or injury it can help to provide a better quality of life and security for the future. I am often amazed and humbled by the determination and drive of Claimants to continue to live their lives as independently as possible even in the toughest of situations.

I would not be able to succeed in my job without the help of my assistant, Julie who has worked at Barratts for 18 years.
