John was a front seat passenger in a car which emerged from a side road into the path of another vehicle. The car was rolled over in the accident. John suffered cuts to his elbow and friction burns to his left arm, discomfort in both ankles and his groin and pain across his chest. He subsequently developed neck and low back pain. He was off work for 3 weeks and continued to suffer some discomfort in the neck and back for a year. He also suffered 2 small dental injuries resulting in the loss of part of his left upper incisor and left lower incisor. These did not require surgical intervention. John had attended for 6 sessions of physiotherapy initially and he had been unable to drive his new car for one month. There was a possibility that he would incur dental costs in the future. His claimed settled in February 2007 for £6,000.
