Rachel was aged 19 when she was paralysed in a car accident. She instructed Barratts to pursue her claim for compensation. An adapted house was a priority and within months of the accident the Court ordered a substantial interim payment so that Rachel could purchase a lovely bungalow in the country. Specialist architects made sure that it was extended and adapted to meet Rachel’s needs.
Rachel was a very keen dancer and after the accident she structured her life around a regular and rigorous exercise programme which helped her both physically and mentally. She received expert assistance from an experienced physiotherapist.
Five years after the accident Rachel became the proud mum of Chloe, for whom she has been able to care, with the help of a Nanny.
Final settlement of Rachel’s compensation claim was agreed in 2001 and this will provide her with financial security for the rest of her life.
